In the podcast I try to add a few more thoughts on recent activity on the site with the benefit of the passage of time.
In this latest episode I look back to a first visit to the new London branch of the Blue Note and explain why I like Finn Carter’s Finding Home – album of the week – a lot. As for the club – squeaky clean and super professional. Let’s hope the romance and mythology missing for now – understandable given the paint on the walls is only just dry – arrive in good time. But the place seems to have hit the ground running. The more jazz clubs the better. But I’ll still be going back to Ronnie’s as number one choice. Because there’s nowhere like the Ron and only.
And drawn from the same album of Carter’s, heartstring tugging ‘Short Stories’ is marlbank track of the week.
