Saturday morning listen

The 10 great new jazz tracks to wake up to. It's the best time of the week.

'In New York' was written by Georgia 'Harpoon' Cécile and Euan Stevenson who also arranged the new piece and plays piano & keys.

Tracks from Tone Forest and Georgia Cécile's soulful turn of a new single on 'In New York' are our pick from the new 10 today. We have included a couple of tunes from TF's upcoming debut. Listen to the full marlbank 10 and watch a video accompanying 'In New York' below:

Around for about six years Tone Forest have common roots in Massachusetts and comprise pianist Miro Sprague, guitarist Jason Ennis and bassist Marty Jaffe. 'Oasis,' the driving tune included in the list, was written by Jaffe. Ennis tune 'A Wave Away' has more of an Andalusian feel. Drawn from their self-titled album to be issued next month by New York jazz indie Outside In Music it's all a very organic acoustic sound. Made up of originals each player contributes to the album what we are hearing so far seems attuned to projecting appeal to anyone who might be into Marc Johnson, Egberto Gismonti or Ralph Towner.
