Popular Nottingham saxist Tony Kofi, whose live Strayhorn themed An Adventurous Dream with Ian Shaw was one of the top UK jazz albums last year, is also a featured soloist.
Recorded around Nottinghamshire in 2023 and 2024, it’s a late night kind of lounge jazz feeling stocked liberally with some top drawer trombone flavoured interpolations and an all-the-time in the world air to the meaty grooves.
Highlights also include the Fred Wesley-like riffing on ‘Budge Up’ featuring Magnus Hawker-French.
