A note on Stephen's background. He began writing reviews for Turkish Daily News when living in Ankara in the early 1990s. Moving to Poland, Stephen, who is from Northern Ireland, worked as assistant editor on the English editon of Jazz Forum under Paweł Brodowski and later living in London got a job as assistant editor at the Islington and later Mayfair based Jazz on CD where he worked from 1993-5. In Streatham he became founder editor of Jazzwise in 1997 and worked there on staff for 15 years. Enniskillen based Marlbank began in 2013. It's named after a vision out there on the Fermanagh and Cavan border in Ireland where you can imagine fireflies. In the words of Frank Ormsby: "ruffled, too,/as though it unearthed some memory of light/from its long blackout, a hospitable core/fit home for fireflies, brushed by fireflies' wings."
