If you are into broken beat and nu jazz check out a duo who are to play the Love Supreme festival this summer, the Londoners certainly impressing on their ramped up jazztronica heard on the head bobbing ‘X is closer to A’ drawn from their debut album Outerstate. Drummer Tom Sunney and keyboardist Filip Sowa form Kessoncoda and the track is on Manchester label Gondwana.

The latest jazz and AfroFusion sounds from beatmaker NK-OK (Namali Kwaten) and amazing multi-instrumentalist Mr DM - David Mrakpor - remain highly accessible. Guests include Camilla George, Poppy Daniels, Kojey Radical and Nico Harris. Very gentle and silky without being at all smooth jazz, Blue Lab Beats' real forte it seems to us is their infectious and dancey take on Afrobeat and hi-life found particularly on the very catchy 'Guava' that features saxist George and trumpeter Daniels.
